voyage

Voyage (duo) is a moving poem, a campy non-stop stream of consciousness account of a bad acid trip in the California desert wherein you discover your boyfriend is cheating on you.

One self, split in two—-- the conversations you have in your head, a riddle of anxiety, self-interrogation and humor. Starkly minimal, the two selves explore their black box terrain, their faces and gestures carrying the playful spoken word trip. Lillich/Krüger’s unique text work, derived from her writing and theater background, creates a rhythmic, incessant and addicting text score. The text is the movement and the movement is the text.

As the narrator navigates herself through this night, the humorous characters and situations become a set for a moral quandary: Am I a good person? Does my gendered experience dictate my behavior? Can I love myself without love? Where are we going?

Voyage (alone, together)- solo

Voyage (alone, together) is an interactive, solo adaptation of the original duet Voyage.

The audience is invited to step into a circle to become active participants in the story’s plot. Lillich/Krüger is then allowed to use the audience as the characters within the story, bringing them to the floor, holding their hands, having a party on the dance floor as your heart breaks.

Part of Rebecca Lillich / Krüger’s textwork style of riddling, the piece is a humorous and heartbreaking embrace of anxiety, ego and the vulnerability of growth wherein the audience becomes participants in the plot.
